7 must-see games this weekend as club football returns

Following the conclusion of the penultimate international break of 2024, club football is back and there are plenty of intriguing games to look forward to across multiple leagues.

Kicking off on Friday night is Leeds United against Sheffield United, a Yorskhire derby and a battle between fifth and second in the EFL Championship - Leeds would jump into the top two with a win.

Saturday lunchtime sees a London derby in the Premier League between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, while Newcastle United later welcome Brighton & Hove Albion, two sides separated by only a point just adrift of the Champions League qualifying places. Over in Italy, Juventus and Lazio go up against each other, level on points in Serie A's third and fourth places respectively.
