Neymar Jr has just dropped a huge hint that he's looking to reunite with former team-mate Lionel Messi.

The two played together at Barcelona between 2013 and 2017 as part of the coveted MSN (Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar) front three, lifting two La Liga titles, three Copa del Reys and the Champions League. When the Brazilian winger parted ways with the Catalan giants in a move to Paris Saint-Germain, Messi followed suit four years later, once again teaming up with Neymar at the Parc des Princes between 2021 and 2023.

Neymar has since made the move to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal for £76.3million (€90m) in 2023, while Messi joined David Beckham's stateside outfit Inter Miami CF on a free. And while Messi has scored 33 goals in 37 games for the Floridian outfit, Neymar's time in the Middle East has been far less impressive.

The 32-year-old has played just six games for Al-Hilal after sustaining a cruciate ligament tear last October, sidelining him for 53 fixtures. He only returned to the field of play as a late substitute in the side's 5-4 AFC Champions League win over Al Ain last month.

Speculation has been rife that Neymar may look to join Messi in the States in the near future, especially considering his contract with Al-Hilal expires next summer. And he recently reignited rumours of his intentions by reportedly splashing out on a whopping £20m ($26m) plot in Miami's exclusive Bal Harbour area.

Approximately 46 metres long, the plot used to house a residence which was later demolished, and includes a dock for recreational boats. The property is in a guard-gated community and comes with approved plans for a 13,000 square-foot mansion, as per the listing - and while the buyer's agent, Bento Queiroz of Compass, declined to comment on the identity of the person behind purchase, The Real Deal claim that it is indeed Neymar.

Speaking to Infobae earlier this year, Messi cast doubt on Neymar's ability to join him in Miami, explaining: "The truth is that it is difficult now, he is in Saudi Arabia, and he has one more year left on his contract, it seems to me.

"He went through a difficult year, where he was injured for a long time, which has left him out of the Copa America as well. Now it's difficult. Afterwards, I don't know, the truth is that life takes so many turns that anything can happen, but I don't think that today, no."

Neymar has also previously told ESPN Argentina that he has dreamed of teaming up with Messi once more in the future, explaining: "Hopefully we can play together again. Leo is a great person, everyone knows him in football and I think he is very happy and if he is happy, I am too."

Messi is under contract with the MLS side for another year and has the option to extend for 2026 too, while Suarez is believed to be in contract talks with Beckham's chiefs to extend his stay - so the MSN reunion is still very much on the cards.
